Ebooks @thelibrary

In the past the Albertsons Library's Ebooks page guided users to Internet sources of free books in text form only. Now, for those who enjoy listening to books read aloud, the Ebooks page includes an Audio Books section. There you will find a link to LibriVox ( http://librivox.org/), an exciting open source project without advertising that aims to build "a complete library of all public domain books in audio." Besides having one of the largest collections of free audio books, LibriVox provides links to other audiolit projects, literary podcasts, literary blogs, and audio related resources.

Also listed is the Open Culture: Audio Book Podcast Collection. While it only provides links to about fifty free audio book titles and includes ads, the site contains a valuable annotated list of free foreign language lesson podcasts covering eighteen languages "that you can download to your iPod or just listen to on your computer."

Enjoy!
