Banned Books @thelibrary

2006 BBW; Read Banned Books: They're Your Ticket to Freedom
Banned Books Week (September 23-30) "emphasizes the freedom to choose or the freedom to express one's opinion even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular and the importance of ensuring the availability of those unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints to all who wish to read them" (from the American Library Association website).

Some of the most challenged books include “The Catcher in the Rye” by J.D. Salinger, "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck, "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, the Harry Potter series, and many more. Come check out our selection of Banned Books on the first floor of the library and take one home.
